Location
Pulau Wai is a 260,000 sqm private island in the heart of Raja Ampat, entirely surrounded by 2.2 kilometers of white sand beaches and vibrant coral reefs. Covered in lush equatorial forest, the island is a sanctuary for unique wildlife including coconut crabs, endemic cuscus, tropical birds, and a resident colony of flying foxes.
One of the island’s most remarkable features is its healthy, colorful house reef, which encircles the entire coastline. Teeming with tropical fish and diverse coral species, the reef offers exceptional snorkeling directly from shore and acts as a natural barrier—protecting the island and ensuring calm, wave-free beachfront waters.
Pulau Wai also boasts a crystal-clear lagoon that allows boats to access the island at both high and low tide. This natural harbor provides flexibility for transfers, excursions, and dive schedules, and serves as a unique night diving site right off the island.
Strategically located approximately 2.5 hours by boat from Sorong and 1 hour from Waisai Harbor, and protected by the nearby island of Batanta, Wai Island avoids open ocean crossings—making year-round transfers possible.
